Mansi Gupta



(BITS Pilani 2015)


Dr.Mansi Gupta engineers Machine Learning and NLP solutions to real world problems, particularly interested in exploring explainability, fairness and biases in ML models. She got her bachelor's in Computer Science at BITS Pilani in 2015. She graduated from a Masters program at Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr.Mansi previously worked as an Applied Research Engineer with the spam and relevance team at Linkedin where she worked on modeling user interactions and end-to-end Search systems. Currently, she works as a part of the Trends and Event Detection team at Twitter which involves writing algorithms to surface trends and recent events on Twitter, ranking them and contextualizing them with meaningful information.

Aakanksha Naik



(BITS Pilani 2016)


Aakanksha Naik is a PhD Candidate in the Language Technologies Institute at the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. She graduated from BITS Pilani in 2016, with a Bachelors in Engineering in Computer Science and completed her Masters in Language Technology from CMU in 2018. During her undergrad, she interned with the Machine and Language Learning (MALL) Lab at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Natural Language Dialog group at the Institute for Creative Technologies, University of Southern California. Her current research tackles the task of developing event extractors for medical data, with no in-domain training data. She has also received a pre-doctoral fellowship from the National Institutes of Health!

Shikhar Vashishth



(BITS Pilani 2016)

Dr Shikhar Vashishth completed his Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from BITS Pilani, Pilani campus, in 2016. Post that, he completed his masters and PhD from IISc Bangalore with a Thesis on Neural Graph Embedding Methods for Natural Language Processing. He has interned at Microsoft and Google research and has received the prestigious ACM India Doctoral Dissertation Award and Google PhD Fellowship during his PhD. He was a postdoc at Language Technologies Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, under Carolyn Rose in Information Extraction in the biomedical domain. He is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Microsoft Research.

Aditi Chaudhary



(BITS Pilani 2015)


Aditi has completed her degree in MSc. Biological Sciences with a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from BITS Pilani. She has been a research intern at the Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore and Google, worked as a software engineer at Microsoft and is a Graduate Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University! Her Research interests revolve around the development of methods/tools to extract language descriptions, such as grammar rules in ALL languages! She has also developed an interface to explore and visualize the extracted language description across many languages.
